It's all about the jacket for this post. I've never strayed too far from my leather jackets, I wear them over everything. However, this palm-print jacket has been my new go-to for the summer/fall transition. This is such a summer print, but I'll be wearing it for fall as well since California is packed full of palm trees. I love the stripes along the sleeves and bottom hem, they add a sporty touch without going over the top. I paired this jacket with a pair of black, tulip shorts and basic tee; but it also goes great with denim. With such a great print, you want the focus to be on that. Tone down the rest with a basic tee and great pair of jeans.

Guevara Lane

I have found the perfect tank for summer! The low-cut back and thin fabric make it perfect for those sunny festival days and balmy, humid evenings. I love pairing my basic tanks with a cool kimono and platform sandals, like I did here. I find kimonos to be the perfect transition piece from day to evening, especially when the temperature drops a few degrees as the sun goes down. My hand chain and stone bracelets will soon be available on my website

Coyote Dreams

This top has worked its way up in my closet to one of my favorite items. Anyone who knows even the slightest bit about me knows that I love being creative. HiCustom is a website that allows you to create your own shirts, which is perfect for someone like me. I happened upon this beautiful coyote image on Tumblr, and used it to create my own custom top. The print quality is so much better than I even expected! I cut the sleeves off to make it more feminine, and I could not be happier!  Make sure you enter below this post to win a $50 giveaway from HiCustom to create your own shirts as well!

I am also quite obsessed with my new bag from Gypsy Soul Designs. Stunning black leather with beaded details and long fringe; the tail is a cruelty-free item I purchased on Etsy several years ago, and makes a perfect addition.

Desert Wanderer

This will be my first outfit post in the beautiful & sunny California. This place is so different than anywhere else I've been; the ocean, the mountains and the wildlife give you a real sense of freedom, I feel like such a free spirit here and I'm already starting to feel a shift in my mood and my style. I've also grown a stronger love for western-wear, especially with boots. I'm allowing the west coast vibes to inspire me in my clothing choices and also with my jewelry designs. All the jewelry I'm wearing for this shoot I made myself, and almost all of it is available on my Etsy.
I'm also totally in love with kimonos, especially the Nasty Gal collection. They're flattering, they're fun, and you can still keep the edge by pairing them with cool jewelry pieces and a pointed-toe bootie. I recently received these boots from ZooShoo, and I'm never taking them off. They're comfortable and the heel gives you a little extra height without being too much. They also have them in navy and red, (currently drooling over the navy pair) and I would highly recommend them.

The Little Black Dress

It's all in the details with this little black dress. I'm so excited to do a collaboration with
Pretty Attitude, they have a great selection of bold and edgy items to choose from. I fell in love with this dress because of the beautiful lace details. It draws the eye to all the right places, and the black fabric is very slimming. Not to mention, it's also really comfortable! This is a dress I can wear to work during the day, and out to dinner in the evening; it's extremely versatile. I chose to pair it with a wedge boot and dainty gold rings for a polished look.

Eagle Feathers

I will always love sweater dresses! How flattering are they with a good pair of heels? Very. This sweater isn't quite long enough by itself, so I always wear a black mini skirt underneath. Most sweaters in my closet are a little on the longer side, but I embrace that. After all, I am a little on the short side. I'm 5"4, without heels. ;) My go-to as a shorter gal would definitely be oversized tops as dresses, and heels as often as possible. This is one of my favorite sweaters because of the high contrast, graphic sleeves. It is thick and fuzzy, and I can often wear it in freezing temperatures without a jacket! It's perfect for the colder cities like New York and Chicago.
These pictures were taken by my sister at an apple orchard in Kentucky.  I absolutely love apple orchards, and especially this one, because they always have the best apple cider. If you're ever in the area, you should definitely check out Reid's Orchard. They have fresh produce all the time and have great recipes on their website.
Thanks for looking and have a happy Friday!
